Hi parents and guardians,
I just wanted to send a reminder that the grade 7 students have a geometry unit test tomorrow.
We also have a popcorn sale tomorrow to raise funds for our portion of the ArtsSmarts grant. Each bag is $1.
Our trip to the library today went well. We were able to do a lot of research on countries around the world. Some students used their cards to take out items. I think it would be a good idea for all parents to ask their children if they took anything out and to check out due dates.
Tomorrow we will have another visit from Mike, our dance instructor. We will also have a visit from a woman who is visiting from Germany and will give us a presentation on German culture.
We also have a classroom twitter account that parents can follow. Find us @StAnne6_7Class . We tweet about what we are learning. Sometimes students are the guest tweeter. I have also tweeted a few photos of our projects. I will always be careful to conceal the identity of the students in the photos.

Hello parents and guardians,
Our class has been busy working on our ArtsSmarts project. Mike will be coming to work with the students on dance tomorrow. Jordan will be here to work on poetry/rap on Friday. The work on our mural has begun - we got all of the priming done today and yesterday and we will likely get started on the creation of it next week with Pavlo.
We finally have a date for our final performance - it will be at St. Joseph School at 7pm on Thursday, February 27th. We will have a dress rehearsal in the afternoon of the same day. We expect that all students will be in attendance - as they will want you to see what they've learned and accomplished.
I am looking for parent volunteers to come into our classroom to share their culture with us. If you would like to be a guest - we would love to hear about your cultural background - especially how it is expressed through the arts. Please email me if you would be interested so that we can arrange a time.
We also asked students who were interested in the design of the mural to have their mock-ups done for tomorrow. We will have a selection committee of teachers and artists deciding which mock-up to go with.
When we finalize dates with Pavlo for the mural, I will send a note home with dates, times, and information. Pavlo will be working on the mural after school - so students will need permission to stay and work on the it. I will be here to supervise.

Thank you so much for the gift certificate to Home Sense. It was a lovely Christmas present. I am embarrassed to only be saying thank you right now. Also, thank you for the ornaments, jam, lotion, cards and other goodies. They were a nice treat.
