Performance Night

This is going to be a busy week for our class as we prepare for our performance on Thursday. I always worry about notes making it home and out of backpacks, so I try to post information to the blog and I am now sending that information via email. I still have indications that information is not making its way home, and that some families are not always sure of what is happening at school.
Hopefully this blog post will be helpful and be read by most parents and guardians.

This week we will prepare for our performance in the afternoon. Students should have already determined what they would like for their costume and have it at school to wear during performances. Please discuss this with your child to make sure that they have what they need and that they have it at school.
On Wednesday afternoon we will have a dress rehearsal at 2:30 for our k-5/6 students in the St. Anne gym.
On Thursday we will eat lunch early at 11:30. At 12:00 we will board a school bus to take us to St. Joseph High School. We will then run through the performance as many times as we can to get the lighting, sound, and stage positioning all ironed out. If parents are not able to attend the evening show, and would like to see some of the performance, you are more than welcome to stop by the St. Joseph High School Theatre in the afternoon. I would guess that around 1:30-1:45 we should have enough figured out that we are just running through the performance. We board the bus at 2:45, so if you do plan to come in the afternoon you must arrive before 2:45 or you won't be able to see anything.
Our final performance is on Thursday, February 27, at 7pm at St. Joseph Theatre. Students need to be there at 6:30. (That's this week!)

We anticipate that the show will last 1 hour. This is an estimate.

The culture report is due this Wednesday. Students have a jot note/research sheet that they have collected their information on. They need to hand write (printing is fine) their rough copy, and type their good copy. They will have more time today, Tuesday to work on it. Some students have complete the entire assignment. Most have their rough copy done.

On Friday, we will watch the movie The Outsiders because we will have finished the book. Students can bring snacks and a drink for the movie.
At the bottom you will find the invitation that was sent home before the break. If you would like to invite grandparents, they are welcome. This is an all ages show, and while we are charging $5 for an adult admission at the door, there is no charge for children. Proceeds of the show help fund this big project.
Please let me know if you have any questions - email is probably the easiest for me to get back to you quickly.
